You Screwed Up Weak Sixteen

With apologies to the great songwriters, Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield, we were inspired by the work of ICANN’s sixteen member Board of Directors to create parody lyrics to a hit song from the ’50′s — Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen.
As readers know, parody isn’t just funny. It’s also satirical and meant in its purest form to lampoon its target. It is our hope that you see the sharp sword among the words. No compliments to ICANN’s sixteen member Board intended here. Enjoy.
Sung to the tune of “HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET SIXTEEN”
(With apologies to Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield)
Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la
It’s the ICANN weak sixteen
Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la
And they’ve screwed up, weak sixteen
This year’s the year ICANN’s waited for
To turn the DNS into an open door
They’ve made the Web more lawless than we’ve ever seen
Yeah, they’ve screwed up, weak sixteen
What happened to consensus rule
Our little Web world now is not so very cool
We can’t believe our eyes, ICANN’s a real bad dream
Sure, they’ve screwed up, weak sixteen
When ICANN was only one, they were our big brother
Then when ICANN went rouge, it acted like no other
And now their fourteen, and things are sure not fine
Since then they’ve blown up, our a future screwed up
From now on there’ll be more crime, so
If we should cry, on the web’s demise
It’s just that we’ve been screwed before our very eyes
ICANN’s turned into the blindest group we’ve ever seen
Yes they’ve screwed up weak sixteen
Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la you screwed up weak sixteen
Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la we’re heartsick weak sixteen
FADE: Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la you screwed up weak sixteen
